Wilmington neighbors turn courtyard into crops
The aptly-named Vernell Fields grew up gardening.
"I was born and raised in the country," the Brunswick County native says proudly. It isn't too hard to tell. Fields is standing amid a lush green garden. She knows more than a thing or two about tending to plantlife.
