Check out a full staff directory for more contact information.
Calendar submissions: We have launched an all-interactive calendar for your submissions accessible off every right side of our Web pages. Simply register for an account to be able to add events or venues. This is the way to make submissions for ANY print calendar according to the following deadlines:
>>Today (Sunday) calendar: 5 p.m. Tuesday
>>Currents (calendar/nightspots): noon Sunday
>>Business calendar: 5 p.m. Monday (sectors items should go to events@starnewsonline.com)
>>Church Directory: 5 p.m. Tuesday
>>Neighbors calendars: Nine days prior to publication
Letters to the editor: We invite your opinions on issues mentioned recently in our news pages and opinion columns. If your letter meets our basic guidelines for accuracy and decency, it will be published online without editing. We will select some letters or portions of letters for publication in our print edition.
Use our automated form to submit your letter to the editor.
Contact Editorial Page Editor Tricia Vance with any questions. Or, as always, you can start a forum topic to join the community conversation.
News submissions: Brunswick County users should use BrunswickVoice.com for any non-calendar submissions. Register for a blog account on which you can create posts or simple "submit a post" as a visitor off the home page.
All other submissions can be directed to the StarNewsOnline blogs community, through the "submit a post" feature - if you are registered.
You also may discuss any news or information on our message boards once you are registered.
E-mail Managing Editor Julie Martin to call attention to any specific posting or news, or with any questions about news submissions.
Any direct submission through e-mail should go to:

Take a tutorial on the process on the site.
We consider all photo submissions for print, occasionally publishing your work in the daily editions. E-mail Photo Editor Mark Courtney to call attention to any of your submissions.
You also may submit photos to BrunswickVoice.com, through a dedicated blog that you create or the "submit a post" function, for the Brunswick Voice print edition. Stay tuned for similar options in New Hanover and Pender counties.

I was fascinated by Susan Hart's article this morning. I also am a raised bed gardener.
I recommend a visit to an urban garden in an unlikely location, behind Greenfield Food Store at 509 Greenfield St. You can see this tiny, very productive garden through the fence at the rear of the parking lot.
Whoever the gardener is has developed a beautifully tended small area into a mini farm full of lush, healthy, high yielding plants.
