Sharks fall to Swampdogs
Three unearned runs come back to haunt the Sharks as they fall 5-3 to Fayetteville on Thursday night.
Bobby Leeper (UNCW) was 3-for-5 with an RBI and Kolby Epley (College of Charleston) drove in a pair of runs for the Sharks (20-24), who fell behind 3-0 in the first four innings and couldn't catch up.
Matt Freeman (Nebraska) took the loss, despite one earned run in 5 1-3 innings and eight strikeouts.
Wilmington travels to Wilson tonight before hosting the Tobs on Saturday at 7 p.m.
Post 10 playoffs set
POST 10 PLAYOFFS SET
American Legion Post 10 continues its run in the state playoffs with a best-of-five series against Hope Mills at
7 p.m. tonight at South View High. Game 2 will be at
7 p.m. Saturday at South View, and game three will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at Legion Stadium. Games 4 and 5 will be scheduled at a later date.
Post 10 has already qualified for the state tournament in Gastonia on Aug. 4-9.
CFA looking for volleyball coach
CFA LOOKING FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL COACH
Cape Fear Academy needs a middle school volleyball coach to begin Aug. 4. Cape Fear Academy is looking for candidates with strong leadership, organizational and communication skills with playing experience.
