Writer Amy Hotz
Amy Hotz was born and raised in Wilmington before I-40 became a line on the map. She attended New Hanover High School and the University of North Carolina Wilmington before landing a job as features writer for the Star-News and now Wilmington Magazine. In the February-March 2006 issue, she wrote about diving off the North Carolina coast. Most recently, she's contributed a Web Extra piece on restoring an old truck. She’s studied Spanish in Cervantes, eaten Frankfurters in Frankfurt and danced the Charleston in Charleston, although not very well, she says. She also enjoys long walks on the beach with her husband, long-range target shooting and long sips of Scotch.
