Writer Jon Prestage
Jon Prestage, a veteran journalist who has written about charter boat trips and new faces for Wilmington Magazine, moved to the Cape Fear from Boston in late 2004. He and his wife, Vicky, sailed their boat, Zephyrus, here last June, a challenging three-week, 1,000-mile trek that the two are not likely to forget. Before the trip, their longest sail had been about 40 miles. Live and learn, he says. He is an award-winning newspaper and television reporter with nearly 20 years experience in the Northeast. In addition to freelancing for Wilmington Magazine, he has written for USA Today, New York Daily News, New England Monthly and New Hampshire Times. He has worked at Harvard University and in medical settings as a writer and editor and has taught mass communications at New England College in New Hampshire.
