Contributing writer Veronica Gonzalez is known for sniffing out a great story as the higher education and immigration reporter for the Star-News, and she does much the same when contributing her writing talent to Wilmington Magazine. The 30-year-old Chicago-area native spent hours sifting through fragrances for a style piece in the July-August 2006 issue. For the tomboyish Gonzalez, trying on perfumes felt somewhat foreign. “I knew absolutely nothing about perfumes before I started this assignment,” says Gonzalez, whose olfactory senses have been somewhat dulled by past sinus problems, “but now I’m up to sniff, er, I mean snuff.”
